I have completed a number of consultancies for external organisations in the areas of curriculum, instructional design, blended learning, assessment, evaluation and developing good practice guides in technology-enhanced environments.

  1. 2015-16 Evaluation Consultant City University, Hong Kong – Evaluation of 40 Teaching Development Grant Projects
  2. 2011 Evaluation Consultant. This consultancy focussed on the evaluation and review of the Centre for eLearning at Curtin University.
  3. 2011 Higher Education Consultant. ALTC funded research project involving the development of a report that outlines good practice in technology-enhanced learning and teaching.
  4. 2010 Flexible Learning Consultant.  This consultancy focussed on completing an evaluation of flexible learning within the School of Education at Charles Darwin University. This included: focus groups and analysis of online learning and teaching modules. The outcome of the evaluation was a major report outlining recommendations for flexible learning for the School of Education.
  5. 2008 Higher Education Consultant. This consultancy focussed on delivering ten seminars in relation to Blended learningLearning-oriented assessment and authentic learning interactions for Sultan Qaboos University, Oman.
  6. 2006 Evaluation Consultant. This consultancy focussed on the evaluation of E-Simulations at Deakin University. It involved interviewing academics, multimedia developers and designers to develop a major report to guide future development of the E-Simulations.  
  7. 2004 Instructional Design Consultant. This consultancy involved a series of workshops with the Centre for Enhanced Learning and Teaching at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The focus of the workshops examined principles for assisting multimedia developers to work with content experts.
  8. 2002 Higher Education Consultant. This consultancy focussed on providing advice on the the development of the Swedish National Portal for Higher Education Portal for Higher Education Student Support. The Swedish Net University was a national initiative and consisted of a network of all the Swedish universities. The aims of the Net University were to coordinate and market web-based education/flexible education provided by the higher education institutions in Sweden.
  9. 2000 Evaluation Consultant. This consultancy focussed on the ‘Evaluation of the Clinicians Health Channel. The Clinicians Health Channel (CHC) was a resource-based portal website providing online access to information sources that assisted Victorian clinicians in decision making, research and education. Resources included an electronic health library with citation databases and full text journals, links to clinical reference materials, guidelines and protocols.
  10. 1999 Instructional Design Consultant. While working for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne I completed instructional design on two major projects including the development of a self-paced learning module on Rational Test Ordering for the Post Graduate Medical Council, NSW and instructional design on the development of the Rural Quality Education and Support for Health Practitioners (TeleQACE).
  11. 1994 Curriculum and Instructional Design Consultant.Rocky Mountain Academy of Therapeutic Massage, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In this role I established the curriculum for this educational institution, introduced instructional design, curriculum and instructional principles throughout the curriculum and evaluated and taught staff instructional strategies. In addition I also completed team-building exercises with all staff.
